There was a big stack of (Austin American-Statesman) papers I hadn't caught up with, so I skimmed through a lot in the last few days. Here's the worst of the 2 letters I sent an email to:

"Why are all of those Democrats writing to the newspaper but the Republicans are not? The Democrats are sitting home complaining and waiting for the government to solve all of their problems. They have lots of time on their hands. The Republicans are so busy working hard, building businesses, expanding their careers, paying taxes and yanking unwanted Obama signs off of their lawns that they have no time to write letters. Or maybe there is a simpler answer. Perhaps the Statesman is biased."

My response: (and let me add that I held back with the cussing because you never know what kind of nutcase these people are, what they might do, etc. :^)

I don't know what Kool-aid you've been drinking, but I know a lot of liberals, and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM has a job, or is successfully self-employed, all with mortages, wives, kids, etc. One is even involved big-time in the chamber of commerce where he lives! So if you think every liberal is some kind of drugged out 'welfare queen' or an out of work artist with green hair and 14 tattoos, that's because you listen to the bullshit your side comes up with.

It's a pretty good resource for lining the cat-box. The LTTEs they choose to print would be right at home there, too. It would be nice, for a city this size, to have an actual daily newspaper.
