I hope Senator Obama knows he can never again demad Bush "own his failure" |
|
His action of supporting the bailout goes against his principle of people owning their failures.

1. Perfect answer for that. |
|
Bush has to own it, but the American people shouldn't have to pay for it.

2. Bush was trying to pass the failure onto somebody else |
|
If there was not a deal it would be everyone Else's fault. Its still extortion money to a the third world branch of W & Cheney Co.

5. Not really. "Owning one's failure" doesn't exclude taking actions to mitigate collateral damage. |
|
Working to lessen the resulting damage doesn't change who's ultimately responsible for creating the problem in the first place, and letting the financial system collapse in order to score a political point would be short-sighted, to understate it.
Such a fundamentalist position doesn't hold-up against basic scrutiny.

6. It would not collapse. It just would not turn around as fast. Patience just as personal |
|
responsibility is a virtue.

7. Prognostication is all. |
|
"It would not collapse."
A nice progniostication.
Patience for what we know, faith for what we hope (or prognosticate...).

8. Well, there's nothing to "turn around" from if it doesn't collapse ... |
|
... so I hope you're right; but all indications are that you're wrong.

Many economists have problems with this bailout. And many have said that |

we'd have problems with or without this particular bailout...few see it as a cure. There will be MANY more bailouts to come. Not one word yet about the GM bailout of 25 Billion? Where does it end?
We should be able to choose our poison.
And BTW, Obama mentioned "helping the auto industry" in his DNC acceptance speech. I presume that meant a bailout.
