Congress scheduled to work through weekend
Source: Congressman Jason Altmire's office

I just got off the phone with a staff member at Congressman Jason Altmire's office. Dem leadership just notified all members to plan to work through the weekend on the bailout issue.

No link yet.

So now there's plenty of time for McCain to debate and THEN head to DC for the weekend.

1. But McCain said he wasn't attending the debate UNTIL the bailout is reached.
So, I guess Obama will be debating an empty chair.

3. Possibly, but John McCain doesn't lik eto work on weekends.
Come on people, work with the Senator. The nice days are waning, he needs to get in as much barbecuing as possible before it's too cold.

4. Putting in the extra hours to totally screw the public on the orders of their owners.
Nader may not have been completely correct, but the two parties sure act a lot alike.

Especially on these economic issues.

Fuck them all.

5. This is just a ploy in effort to lull the public to sleep

The heat from the public doesn't seem to be letting up much though. The effort to use and push the story about debate / no debate is also part of an effort to throw people off the path. I wouldn't trust any of it if it comes from M$M

8. The message ought to be loud and clear, "NO BAILOUT for Wall Street's
...mistakes".

Wall Street moves on average 300 million to 450 million shares per day. Why not set an immediate surtax on all shares traded of between 1.5% to 3.0% to create a dedicated fund from which a bailout of Wall Street's toxic target assets could be paid-off, thus making the bailout request pay for itself directly from the source? The treasury could also recover the $350 billion Paulson/Bush bailout just in the past two weeks as well, taking the American taxpayer off the hook completely.

Then congress could take the $1.1 trillion and earmark that for the next presidency to begin massive recovery of the U.S. economy.

they want a gravey train and tap into US Treasury -- not responsible solutions --

PLUS ... I don't see any new restrictions on them...

REMEDIES to ensure this doesn't happen again --- ?????
