18. This is truly a bipartisan issue
Very few people are stupid enough to agree with bailing out the yacht-and-pony club.

2. Who the fuck sent Shelby out the door to hock a "no deal" line?? Isn't it strange that
he waited until the stock market closed to come out?

21. Damn Buchanan says they're being stampeded into
another Gulf of Tonkin situation. He says McPOW cannot sign this bill.
I hope Obama knows he cannot sign this bill. Buchanan says he cannot support the bill. Dems better understand this set up. If they sign, they hand Congress back to Rethugs in two years.

-----
Question - if it can be proven that Bushco is manipulating the markets for political reasons, can they be finally impeached.

5. Good.
Said he agreed with 5 pages of leading economists (bad idea).....said he likely wouldn't be welcomed "inside" any longer.

He may not be asked back. Obvious it must not be dire. This has been going on for a week now.

I'm sorry that it's a Republican Congressman waving that long list of ecomonics experts around and not a Democrat. But I'm glad that at least someone is listening to sounder and much more trustworthy voices than those from ChimpCo.

23. i just wish some of these academics would give an example of what "bold action"
they favor.

The problem is that they say Congress should take some time to hold hearings etc but then they undermine this lack of urgency by saying bold action is needed and then they don't offer any hint of what such action might look like.

Not likely to be that effective in responding to those that are saying the sky is falling.

8. I don't know why they are pushing this..
Schumer was the first one out of the pack running with this thing. Something is not right. Is the finance business to Democrats what the oil business is to Republicans? New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts?

10. They all need to ignore Bush, Paulson, and McSame, and settle down and work on what's
the right thing to do. They need to pull in as many leading economists, inclusing those on the 'left', and get some damn advice.

They've let Bush&co. pull the 'boogie man' crap again!
