bush and the repubs are finishing bin-laden's job for him, and I think people have to recognize it
I've been screaming about this for the past 4-5 years, and all I get in response is crickets... so considering that more than one repub has described this crisis as a pearl harbor or a 9-11 - I figured, screw it - I'll be tasteless too

5. I think it's a little too much. |

I don't think the WTC attacks should be taken lightly. Yes, I do agree that Dubya and the GOP did this to Wall street, but still it's a little harsh.

they destroy buildings, kill people and instill fear. In a country of our size, terrorist bombings/attacks won't bring us to our knees - instead it tends to strengthen our resolve and determination to fight back and protect ourselves
destroying a country's economy will bring it to it's knees. Following 9/11 - there was a shake up in the economy, but there was a fairly quick return to some semblance of normalcy.
if you look through history - falling of governments/countries has an economic reason at the center. Why do you think economic sanctions and embargo play a part in dealing with a country? Because it hits that country's economy, people start hurting, they get pissed and eventually there is a revolt if the sanctions/embargo goes on long enough and is effectively applied.
I'm not saying bush and the repubs planned this in order to destroy our economy - no - their motives were pure greed. However, their greed is destroying our economy and our country.
and what's bin-laden's goal? to destroy our country. if we do it to ourselves - then so much the better as far as bin-laden is concerned

9. Thank you for clarifying. |

I understand. Dubya has put us at a very great risk economically. It is a destruction. I guess I'm just tired of folks using the WTC attack symbolism, whatever there political position. Do you understand where I'm coming from? I agree with what you're saying, it's just it's overused.

10. I do understand where you are coming from |

and that's why I used it - 9/11 at the beginning of bush's term set his course, and policies. It gave him the tools he needed to accomplish what he wanted. and now with the destruction/collapse of our economy at the end of his term - it's come full circle
destruction started him off, and destruction is ending it

callous mocking of tragedies is always good for a laugh. Like the Rape of Nanking, holy shit it's just an area ripe for comedic ideas.
