Disabled vet falls and no one will help him up
Man can't make it home from the doctor and ends up laying on the street four hours.

FULLERTON Timothy Carroll made it home from a tragic aircraft carrier disaster during the Vietnam War, but the Fullerton resident couldn't make it home from Anaheim on Thursday.

Carroll, 61, has diabetes and was recently diagnosed with Bell's palsy. Because he has been disabled since 1995 and has been steadily losing feeling in his hands and feet, Carroll doesn't drive. And living off $1,220 in disabled veteran's benefits doesn't allow him to take a taxi on a regular basis.

He was leaving his doctor's office on Romneya Drive and Euclid Street in Fullerton at 11:30 a.m. Thursday and needed a ride home, less than 1.6 miles from his apartment in Fullerton. Carroll said a combination of the 84 degree heat and his physical condition made him lay down in the grass.

"I was halfway down the block and I couldn't walk any further," Carroll said. "I had to sit down and I sort of went to sleep."

Carroll said as he faded in and out of consciousness, he called 911 to ask for a ride home.

"They said they don't give rides to people lying on the street," Carroll said. "I waved some motorcycle officers down and they wouldn't stop."

This really pisses me off!!!!!
