That is, have you seen/heard of people who know full well that McCain is Bush III and actually chant "Four more years!" at his rallies or something?

1. If I owned an oil company, I'd lead that chant
unfortunately, I dont have billions, so I suggest a change from the staus quo.

I love the poor white trash in 1982 Chevy Cavaliers with Bush stickers. Dont you get it you morAns, he hates your fucking guts and wants you to die if you cant afford to buy the products that his people are selling.

4. Sadly I know a half a state of the nit wits
they believe that everything is fine and dandy. Their businesses ( service sector businesses at that ) don't need customers and they are more then happy that the welfare queens are losing out. Either they are the most ignorant people ever born or the biggest liers in the state. Thank god for Detroit, Flint, Saginaw and Ann Arbor cause the west side of the state are morons, except for a few that realize it's not the democratic party responsible but the republican party that killed the state.

5. Poor People Voting Against Their Own Interest
We are living in strange times. Those who can least afford another four years of Bush politics are voting for McCain. I run a non-profit that assists low-income people and daily we have clients show up for food and other needs and we watch them drive away in beat up cars with McCain stickers on them, right next to the old Bush stickers. However, I am not allowed to say anything to them because of the law governing non-profits and campaigning. However, if the ministers actually pull off their threat to test that law I am going to start a national movement within my network and post signs all over the office that state THIS MAY BE YOUR LAST ASSISTANCE, ALL EXTRA MONEY HAS BEEN GIVEN TO MCCAIN'S WEALTHY FRIENDS SO THEY CAN BUY ANOTHER PORSCHE.

Just had breakfast with one of my sisters this morning. She said she'd vote for Bushie again. She and her husband both. I've known them long enough to not ask why.... All I could say was, "I can't believe you and I share the same DNA." Seriously, she and her husband are hard core. They susbscribe to the limbaugh letter, national review, etc. He wears a ballcap that says "Club Gitmo". They watch faux neuz 24/7. They have been indoctrinated.

10. some people are so desperate
to have something to believe in, they will not jump the sinking ship. It's all about the home team, group identification, my country right or wrong. They can be real nice people and all that, but they're intractably rigid on politics.

They think of their devotion as loyal. We think of it as delusional.

Not much to be done. They are as brainwashed as any Moonies. It would take real deprogramming.

8. I know two people who'll admit they're voting for McCain
I've also seen a bumper sticker around here that looks like the old "W: The President" sticker, but instead it says "W: Thank You", which tells me that some people are just idiots.

12. I met an ex-university professor recently
who amazed me with his hardcore Rush Limbaugh views. Reeled out all the talking points like a wind-up doll, to which I just laughed like Rachel Maddow does to Pat Buchanan. But I went away feeling bummed out. It's one thing when McCain support comes from lo-info voters, but really depressing to see such a closed mind from someone who is intelligent and informed.
