FUCK YOU AMERICA! The Bailout

This bailout hopefully will be George W. Bush's final Fuck You to America. I say hopefully, because we still have nearly 4 months to go.

But look at it this way. He's pushed us 7 trillion dollars deeper in debt. Our currency value has been cut in half against the Euro. And we've paid $50 per barrel extra for oil while he was there (that's 3.5 trillion dollars). And then we have to fix the government that he broke. That will not be cheap either. We don't even know what kind of damage we will face in addition to that. And that's just the money. We don't know how much suffering will yet have to be endured as part of his legacy.

So this $700 billion is chump change to get rid of him. Probably less than 2 percent of the total cost of his presidency.

So even though the situation is far from perfect, it ain't all that bad.

At DU, we knew something like this had to be coming. But then there are all these poor sap repubs to whom this comes as a surprise! (And for them there are more surprises yet to come!)
