What movie(s) reminds you of the last 8 years?

I'll start:

1) The Andromeda Strain (a deadly bacteria that is killing us, developed and protected by the Pentagon and the NSA, that we just can't eliminate)
2) The Godfather (a bunch of murderers, that no one can eliminate)

17. AWAKE, where the main character in the movie has open heart
surgery but the anesthesia doesn't work and he is awake during the entire operation. He feels all the pain but is paralysed so cannot cry out and can do nothing about it but suffer. Very similar to the last eight years.
