Palin is the gift that just keeps on giving |
|
I have a confession to make. The week Palin was announced and we were digging up all of her dirty laundry, I was sure McCain was going to back out before she accepted the nomination. I mean really, it WAS a ludicrous choice, done in haste and with absolutely no discernible vetting. But I also knew that she was the greatest gift our side was ever going to get in this crazy election year. So, I decided to pray for divine intervention to keep her in the race. Now, I knew that my Goddess would metaphorically take me out to the woodshed for such a blasphemy so I decided, with malice and forethought, that since I am pagan and willing to have lots of Gods in my pantheon, I should be allowed to pick and choose who I pray to. I prayed to the Christian God, the likes of which I hadn't done since I was a gullible thirteen year old about to get "born again" (another story for another day). I prayed and I prayed because while my more reasonable minded hubby promised me that there was no way McCain would back out, I doubted.
Now, I don't know if it was my prayer or McCain's stupid ass stubbornness, but I have to say, I am happier than a lipsticked pig in shit.
Hey, Palin, hon, wanna talk to Katie some more? Ya know ya wanna!

5. The platypus is proof that God has a sense of humor. |

I don't blame you. Believe me, under the current circs I find myself reverting. I just can't help it--I want Barack (and Joe, and their families) to be safe from harm, and that's Who comes up. Fervently.
As for Palin. Ye gods. She IS the gift that keeps on giving, I've always said it, but the Dems have to open her up or it won't do us any good!

9. In my entire life BB (Before Bush) I thought praying about politics was really a stupid thing to ... |
|
... bother a deity with. At some point I changed my mind. These are strange and desperate times.

8. I wonder if she has the sense to know that she is to address him as Senator Biden? |
|
Senator Obama could get away with calling Senator McCain by his first name because they are both Senators. It would be a breach of etiquette for her to say, "In what respect, Joey?".
