Thinking about the pre-primary season, I am reminded... |

In Vietnam we had a term for the person out in front of everyone else on a patrol. They called them "point men" in the official jargon, but we had a different label.
We called them "booby-trap finders."
Whether you're talking Hill or Obama or Edwards, it's awful dangerous to be out there in front this early in the game. Early leaders don't usually make it. (Well, Bush did, but everyone knows that was a rigged game.) You just draw too much fire when you're out there all alone. Booby-trap finders.
