"People around world praying to ALLAH, that McCAins opponent wins" invocation in Iowa just now
http://iowaindependent.com/6901/john-mccain-davenport-liveblog

A RACIST BIGOT INVOCATION BY A PASTOR FOR A MCPALIN RALLY

The invocation is interesting, as I hear keyboards going all around me:

“There are plenty of people around the world who are praying to their god, be they Hindu, Buddah, or Allah, that (McCain’s) opponent wins. I pray that you step forward and honor your own name.” Ends with “in Jesus’ name.”

W. The preacher’s name appears to be a Pastor Conrad of the Evangelical Free Church.

1. Evangelical Frees are some of the worst of the wingnuts

Usually wealthy, white, love-God-on-Sunday / hate-everyone-the-other-six-days kind of people. Their hypocrisy knows no bounds.

4. What about all the Christians who want Obama to win?
Edited on Sat Oct-11-08 12:19 PM by CJCRANE
This guy seems to be forgetting that Europe, South America, Australia and sub-saharan Africa are predominantly Christian.

on edit: added Australia. Also of course not to mention liberal and moderate Christians in the US.

13. I don't think he's forgetting.
He's just conveniently not mentioning that fact. I think it's called "bearing false witness".

Either that or he's in denial.

5. How could he possibly know that unless he's talking to the "A-RABS," as
that elderly McCain supporter said?

My guess is that religious leaders are praying for peace and safety for their membership.

6. Beware the Great God Hindu! Beware Buddah (sic) (sick)!
These fundy types are always so blessed illiterate and ignorant. But nevertheless dangerous, like a 3-year-old with a hand grenade and a pliers.

7. Nothing like excluding the Christians who support
Obama. I guess this pastor can't conceive of any christians endorsing, supporting, voting or praying for Barack Hussein Obama to defeat McKKKain. This is nothing more than racist. What a biggot piece of crap this pastor is.

9. I've never heard of the God, Hindu.
I admit I'm not as well versed in Hinduism as I should be, but I did run a quick Google check and didn't see a God named Hindu in the pantheon. That leads me to believe this preacher is an ignorant fuck who has no clue what his own God wishes, let alone "Hindu, Buddah, or Allah".

14. I have a question. If in Fundyland, the Buddha
Edited on Sat Oct-11-08 12:27 PM by tomg
is now a god, does that constitute a promotion (I mean god is pretty high up there) or a demotion ( unless I'm wrong, achieving parinirvana trumps divinity and Siddhārtha Gautama achieved that).

More to the point, I think most people around the world are praying to whatever it is they pray to that Obama wins. Hell, I'm an agnostic but I'ld pray to my lawnmower if I thought it would help.

15. Is he mentally deficient?
Hindu = practitioner of Hinduism
Buddah (sic) = founder of Buddhism
Allah = one of many names for the vengeful desert god otherwise known as God, Jehovah, G-d, Yahweh, etc. The God of Moses and Abraham.

Is this Pastor Conrad DRUNK?????

18. HINDU IS NOT A GOD!!
Edited on Sat Oct-11-08 01:22 PM by rch35
it is a word that the english gave to over 200 different religions more different than Christianity, Judaism, and Islam

Buddha isnt a god, but hes not just a regular dude either. and he doesnt get worshipped. Mahayana Buddhists all aspire to become Buddhas, for the sake of all living creatures. The Terivada (Hinayana, as the Mahayana insultingly call them, as it specifically means inferior vehicle where Mahayana means superior vehicle) dont necessarily believe they have to reach enlightenment by themselves. They believe in one Buddha every era, who went first and opened the door for the rest of us, and all we have to do is follow him through the door.

and Allah is the same god as "God". the Koran is to the new testament what hte new testament is to the old testament. Its fuckin ridiculous, Jesus is one of hte most quoted prophets in the Koran. they even believe there will be a second coming.

edited to add: correct me if im wrong on any of that, but thats to the best of my memory

20. Uh oh, I have a confession.
I will be attending a funeral mass in a Catholic Church, and relapsed Catholic that I am, had decided to light one candle for the Obama family and one for the United States. I anguished over doing this but decided that even though I am not a church goer, I am willing to add my prayers for this election.

23. Fear buddhists!
They might walk up to you with their saffron robes and pummel you on the head with a gigantic dharma wheel and then try to brainwash you with their auspicious symbols and Om Mani chants! :sarcasm:

Oh I'll get negative karma for this, I'm sure but:
Bite me, Pastor Conrad.
