4. Its a tough one there..
I mean do we want to subject humans as lab rats... like Hitler did? Or do we want to study the effects in lab rats, etc.

As a scientist type person, I never went near this shit.. I studied more as an ecologyst and population study type person... specifically in fish yeild models.. On the environmental side, it was ecological management.. input-- output systems.. It all is rather cyclical.. I stayed way away from studying by using animals for experiments. I couldn't do it.. but I'm sure the testing has saved many lives.. so its a very grey issue.

KINDNESS RANCH

Dr. David Groobman / Founder

The mission of the Kindness Ranch: American Sanctuary for Research Animals is to rescue and rehabilitate animals formerly used in research and to provide them with safe and secure homes for the rest of their lives.
___________________

The animals who live here are just a few of the dogs, cats, horses, pigs and others who have spent their lives in laboratories, being tested on and used in classrooms in the name of science.

Scientists, for reasons of economics or policy, have traditionally euthanized animals when they are no longer useful to their work, but many labs are now taking a more humane approach and are willing to retire some animals to sanctuaries after the tests or semesters are over.

One of the ways in which the Kindness Ranch is unique isin the rehabilitation of our rescued cats and dogs. They live with round-the-clock caretakers in our cat and dog yurts, custom designed for the animals' well being.

We are successfully rehabilitating these cats and dogs and have found many loving homes.

We are committed to giving our animals the personal attention you would give the animals in your own home.

After all they have been through, they deserve and need this caring and love.
_______________

It's a good outfit, worthy of our support.

7. Same answer as always: prove it. Prove that any advances could ONLY have happened
via testing on live animals.

8. Humans live too long
When a mouse can develop cancer in days to weeks, how long do you think cancer research would take without it? So much would still be a mystery. We could have found everything out eventually.... but simple research would have taken a century instead of a few years. Drug R&D needs animals to see if drugs cross the blood/brain barrier before you can even determine what it does, and that's impossible without animals too.
