Just got my VA absentee ballot via email (question included in post)... |
|
... can't wait to print it out and vote for Obama, Warner, and Periello (5th District). :)
However, the message they sent along suggested that I write "Absentee Ballot Enclosed" on the envelope. Am I being paranoid in thinking this is a bad idea?

1. In Cook County Illinois, they provide a postage free |

return. It is clearly marked as a ballot, and if you fuck with it, they promise serious jail time.

2. Don't worry too much, in Florida, they all say that like 20 times on the outside... |

No party affiliation though.

3. since you received it via e-mail |

and printing it out - there is no envelope or label - this is probably why they want you to write Absentee Ballot Enclosed - so they know it's a ballot and not a letter asking for information
If you have any questions, then call your election board and confirm that you should write Absentee Ballot Enclosed on the envelope. I would also confirm the mailing address and any other instructions that came along with the ballot

... the instruction sheet they sent along with the email was quite clear and explicit, thankfully, but I will follow up on anything ambiguous.
