A pollster hung up on me today..
She called about local elections, and when I told her I would research and decide which of 5 local people, I would vote for, she said I'll put you down as undecided... I said. "When I figure out which one is the least likely to be a republican, I will vote for that person".. and then....click..

Out here, our local people often run as "no party specified", so we have to look them up online and research their afiliations..

2. They usually hang up on me after I launch into my rant about the Metric System
We should have been fully converted to it by 1980, and our recalcitrance is the biggest thing holding us back in the global economy.

:argh:

6. Funny you mention that - today I was driving around town
(suburban NY) and I saw tons of yard signs for local races and NONE of the Repubs had party affiliation printed! All the Democrats did, but none of the Repubs. I know it's NY, but even here I don't ever remember so many signs without the GOP brand.

7. Once some pollster wanted to know what "wilderness" meant to me.
I went into a very long lecture on its literary and religious implications. I could feel the person sweating as she tried to figure out which box to put me in.

8. I did my research...

and Voted for every Dem, even though some did not have a party affiliation, and that includes all judges endorsed by the Washington State Democrats. The last item on the ballot was difficult. I could not find the party affiliation of either person, so I had to go by looks, sadly. The old, friendly-looking guy with the beard got my vote. I should have left it blank, but I read up on the guy and he seemed very competent to run our utilities, so he got my vote. Believe me, I would have left it blank if I had doubts. I abhor voting like this, but feel better that it was only for one item on the ballot.

9. Many Republicans are intentionally leaving out party affiliation to dupe voters into voting for them
They know the Republican name brand is destroyed for a long time, so they're trying to distance themselves in a gambit to appear more moderate than they may actually be.

15. My favorite poll response...
My sister was called by a pollster, who eventually asked her, "What would it take to get you to vote Republican this fall?" My sister's response: "A lobotomy."

End of call. Man I wish I'd come up with that one.
