1. People have away of hanging on. |
|
I believe my own grandmother willed herself to live for my wedding day. The next day, things really turned and she died shortly afterward. I pray she gets to see that day.

4. My grandmother hung on until I could visit one last time, and take her kitty |
|
to live with me, and until my sister and her family could visit. Three days after I left she passed.
Frankly, I think she was MOST concerned about what would happen to the cat.........

5. I have seen people hang on until their child from far away walked in the door... |
|
and said, "Hi, Mom!" Hopefully, Toots can also see that dream come true.
Bless her heart.

My mother was dying of cancer, but she was determined to hang on and say goodbye to me until I came from America to visit her one last time. When I finally arrived and saw her, I lost it. She died the next day.

10. But, she died peacefully, having seen you for the last time. |
|
Imagine those who die with no one to say goodbye or I love you. So sad.

7. My dearest Aunt was living in the East and I had just |
|
returned from my 3rd trip to visit with her when the Dr. called to tell me she was slowly slipping away.
(I am Christian and I do understand that others may not care to read more -- I'll understand. This is for those that wish to believe.)
I was devastated and asked the doctor if I should come back immediately.
She was a young doctor, very compassion with her patients and their families.
This is what she told me....
"I will call you when I think the end of her earthly life is closing."
"You do not have to come but I will put the phone to her ear and you talk to her, you give her permission to " Go With God." You tell her how much you love her and how much she means to all the family. Just pour out your heart to her."
"After that, tell her that you know that she will be with her mother and sisters etc. and she will be at peace."
I got the call from the doctor about 2 days later. She reminded me what we had talked about and she put the phone to my Aunt's ear.
Tears started rolling down my cheeks! I couldn't stop the tears but something inside of me let the words just roll from my lips into that phone.
When I finished the doctor came back to the phone and she told me,"she is smiling, you have released her to go."
Another family member that was in the hospital room took the phone and told me the same thing, My cousin told me it was simply amazing and beautiful the way the smile came over her face.
My Precious Aunt( who was like a Grandmother to me) died peacefully about 2 hours after my call.
If Obama can't get back to Hawaii, I hope they will put the phone to her ear and let him say goodbye to her like I did with my Aunt.
The call gave me "permission" to feel that she knew how much she meant to me and I was so uplifted, and still feel that way, that I shared those moments with her from so far away.
