Proud of my local library. "Banned Books Week" for teens
"For your convenience, books are on display at both libraries. Be on the lookout for the "Banned Books" sign - that's where you'll find the selection.

Teen Read Week
BOOKS WITH BITE

"Be sure to visit the book display and pick up a booklist with recommended titles or visit the Teen Scene webpage for suggested books."

Librarians rock.

My oldest daughter volunteers there in the summer and has for a couple years now already, and she's only 12.

11. During banned book week at our library, this is what they did:
They set up a table with a bunch of books in plain brown wrappers (Kraft paper). On the paper there was a date written, indicating the date the book was banned. There was also a notation showing the genre. You checked them out, not knowing what book you were checking out. They asked that you not unwrap them till you got home. I checked out a YA novel. Turned out to be about homosexuality.
