8. We do get such freak weather
but fortunately not too often and usually only on a small scale. There was a bad one 4 years ago when a thunder storm was stationary over a small village for hours. It saturated the peat moor above the village and the resultant flood almost wiped the village out. http://www.mad.co.uk/Main/Regions/WalesAndTheWest/Clients/Articles/76bedfafa95447598d75fd1f151e981e/After-the-flood.html Cars were simply washed out to sea. Fortunately there were no fatalities greatly helped by RAF helicopters being on the scene in about 20 mintues flat to retrieve villagers from roof tops.
