Pinellas / Sarasota County FL Report Friday after a week of early voting; a preview |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-31-08 09:28 PM by Sancho
Pinellas: 16277 registered Democrats 8128 registered repubs 9537 others
This is a county that was red the last two elections; the densest populated county in Florida. (Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Largo) The election supervisor (Dent) did NOT want to open early voting sites, so the county has very few locations. This is the home town of Gov. Crist (GOP) and elected Senator Young (GOP) repeatedly and houses the RAYS. There is a lot of military in Tampa Bay and also military contractors.
There are about 200,000 absentee ballots outstanding in Pinellas which may mean a delayed report next Tuesday on the winner. The local nickname for St. Pete is "God's waiting room." There is a relatively older population and minority is less that many counties in Florida.
If Pinellas really goes 2:1 blue, then that is a great sign that FL will go blue. ------------------------------------------ Sarasota is also very red. There are more early voters and less absentees. So far, it is almost dead even with: 21434 registered Democrats 21627 registered repubs 10624 others
Sarasota is the county where the machines had hugh undervotes and Christine Jennings lost to Buchannan in a "close" election. Jennings is running again and should win an election that is not manipulated. The election supervisor in Sarasota is terrible - incompetent and a GOP hack.

2. Three of those Dem ballots are from this household in Pinellas. |
|
Approximately 8,000 people in Pinellas supposedly voted for George Bush and Betty Castor in 2004. That is like voting for Hitler and Mother Theresa. I am convinced that those 8,000 votes were Kerry votes flipped to the Shrub.
Each of the four houses on the corner of my street have McCain-Palin signs on them. Three of those homes were bought after Bushco ran the real estate bubble scam to keep the economy going after 9/11. Unless those folks had some really big down payments they are underwater on their homes now.

6. My wife got in a fight with the poll workers in 2004 when it switched her |
|
The machine would not let her vote for Castor. They tossed me out when I wanted to impound the machine. They rebooted it and gave us a new card to vote on...some technician was there. A young guy from the manufacturer I suspect.

I have lived here,Pinellas county, for 40 years,it will be fairly close no way 2to 1 or close to that for either side. You have to be careful when looking at Florida and other southern states concerning democrat and repub. for years conservative people registered Demo. but voted Repub. in national elections.

4. Claude Pepper sez, "Take it back, take it back." |

Ben Hill Griffin sez " Oh my God, what have I spawned?"
Politics down in Nelson country are like watching the soaps. Nelson needs to go, I'll work for anybody that wants to challenge him in the primaries.
