If McCain: No Way."

My wife is German: Steffi. Her best friend is also German: Michaela. We all live in Oregon.

A week ago I was talking to my wife Steffi about sending a picture of myself in my Halloween costume dressed as Sarah Palin to her parents who live in Bavaria. She said it was not a good idea because they were soooooo on edge about the election. They are WWII Germans of course and security is everything. Erwin went through the bombing of the ball bearing factories in Schweinfurt by American bombers. This election is so serious to them that joking with them is out of the question.

Today I talked with Michaela about the election. She reiterated a similar point her Mom said was prevalent: "If Obama is elected we will think about renewing our relationship with America. If McCain: No Way." It seems to show a consensus in Germany that they are very concerned and fed up with our right wing extreme governance.

As I thought about it I realized that what we are really doing (granted we win) is saving Pubs from their own stubbornness, bigotry, and narrow mindedness whether they know it or not. Hopefully we can save the rest of the world with it.

Also I am so excited folks......This has been such a long hall.

Cheers.
