The Fix Is In: ZOGBY NOW HAS MCCAIN +1
Headlines on Drudge: ZOGBY: MCCAIN MOVES INTO LEAD 48-47 IN ONE DAY POLLING

http://www.zogby.com/main.htm

Pollster John Zogby:

"Is McCain making a move? The three-day average holds steady, but McCain outpolled Obama today, 48% to 47%. He is beginning to cut into Obama's lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all. "Obama's lead among women declined, and it looks like it is occurring because McCain is solidifying the support of conservative women, which is something we saw last time McCain picked up in the polls. If McCain has a good day tomorrow, we will eliminate Obama's good day three days ago, and we could really see some tightening in this rolling average. But for now, hold on."

The important thing is that this is just one day's poll, but I smell danger here, how about you?

7. One Day Polling???
Everyone else on this planet is using 3 day rolling averages...just for the reason cited above. Sounds like Gramps had a good day...ONE good day...in a national poll by ONE pollster who has already been shown to skew and push results. But then let the wingnuts have a little bone here...let their hopes build only to come crashing down very soon.

But then I remember many here hanging onto similar polls back in 2004...

Cheers...

8. I think the original poster's concern
Wasn't about the accuracy of the poll but of the possibility that they were going to use polls like this as cover when they steal the election.

Personally, I plan to get out there and work my little Western Pennsylvania ass off this weekend to make sure we win by enough that they can't steal it.

10. Yes, that's the concern...
the impression Drudge is making, that McCain is actually AHEAD in the polls when Zobgy has
the overall as: Obama 49.1%, McCain 44.1%

It makes you wonder what's really going on here...

23. Yep...
Maybe some folks weren't paying that much attention in 2004, but Zogby was the do-all, end-all pollster with many...all sure Kerry was gonna kick ass...and we know how that turned out.

For a couple years I participated in Zogby online polls but felt they were getting more and more intrusive...going into economic stuff rather political...interested in my buying habits, which I'm sure was then sold to some large corporation.

Earlier this year there was a report of Zogby push-polling questions to get specific results to favor Gramps...and he's changed voter models more times than I can recall.

But then the numbers are a bone to the repugnicans...they need to prevent people from giving up and staying home on Tuesday.

Cheers...

27. When I was being polled by Zogby, they were over-sampling Republicans
(We could see the results after we'd answered our questions.) They were sampling 35% R's to 30% D's, things like that. They may be up to their old tricks this time.

11. FOOLED AGAIN: How the Right Stole the 2004 Election and Why They'll Steal the Next One Too...AUDIO
http://157.22.130.4//data/20060426-Wed1300.mp3

Fooled Again: How the Right Stole the 2004 Election

With Mark Crispin Miller. Mark Crispin Miller is the author of three books dealing with the Bush/Cheney administration and the dangerous conservative movement that is driving it. In his most recent, "Fooled Again: How the Right Stole the 2004 Election and Why They'll Steal the Next One Too", he argues it wasn't moral values that swung the election - it was theft. In this presentation on April 9, 2006 at the University of Massachusetts - Amherst, he spoke about the 2004 stolen presidential election and the take-over of the Republican Party by religious fundamentalists. Apr. 26, 2006

This is an incredible show if you haven't listened to it...

12. The OP is not being a concern troll. This is another example of plausible deniability

being set up, so they can point to the "close" polls to cover that late-night "win" that John McCain's promised.

It's even happening on the UK news. Sky News had a gloom & doom report last night about Ohio, and how Obama should be worried about it. Yet over on Channel 4 News there was nothing about potential problems in Ohio or anywhere else for Obama. So if we'd only watched the Sky broadcast, we'd have gotten the impression that something had happened yesterday to make a McCain victory more likely.

They've stolen the last two presidential elections. They're gonna do what they can to steal this one too. Being concerned about that is not trolling; it's being aware.

18. plausible deniability is the key word
I really believe that they don't really know if they can pull off a stolen election this time because there are a lot of people voting and they need to steal a lot of votes to do it.
But if they do, they have that plausible deniability to back them up.
Vote stealing will still go on and the main focus in local elections is to retain house and Senate seats, with a bonus of a presidential win for them if things go well.

35. Pathetic enough to recognize another of those "Well gee, I can still post on DU...
... so everything's obviously OK. And since it's OK now, it'll be OK forever. And how do I know that? Well, I live in the moment, refusing to acknowledge the past or the future, and things are just ducky at present."

Fair enough. A quick note of caution: Nobody gives a shit about Zogby, or any other poll for that matter. What those in position to influence these things do care about are the really important numbers that make or break the whole operation.

Like the numbers of Obama votes the GOP has already picked off and flipped, how many more will get flipped by Tuesday night, how many Dem voters they've managed to kick off voter rolls, intimidated into staying home, conned into voting on Wednesday or going to the wrong polling place, or just making the process so protracted and inconvenient -- 10 hours or longer in line, but only in Dem-leaning precincts -- that maybe 20 percent will just give up and go away.

So the whole scam depends on choosing the right states, determining margins of victory that produce sorta kinda credible McCorpse wins because they track the pre-election poll numbers that show the race tightening -- more numbers that were purchased by GOP/RNC accomplices on behalf of the usual criminal enterprise.

Presto chango -- meet the new boss, same as the old boss -- except for the giant malignancy and the comb-over and the bizarre biker chickie wannabe always saying "like... yoooo betcha!" And four more years in hell begins, legit as the previous eight, every year stolen from far better people who had the bad luck to be on the side of chronic chicken shits who'd rather eat light bulbs than stand up to authority.

But the official narrative about a squeaker and a last-day surge and the energy Palin brought to the race and blah blah blah... That's hard-wired into US history and it's all the American rubes and gullible true believers are ever going to hear on the subject from our free and independent mass media.

And there's still one final insult to go: Because even the narcotized American public will eventually figure out what a rat smells like if you give them enough samples, people all across the country are getting a little damn sick and tired of listening to ceaseless mass media cheerleading for the beneficiaries of yet another successful GOP election theft. Not that they're actually going to do anything about it, of course, but still...

But ever cautious about offending their delicate viewers and possibly losing another of the trapped consumption addicts they sell their advertisers for big bucks -- and under severe pressure from the corporatocracy to get even more fair and balanced than Murdoch's giant idiot magnet -- TV "news" decides to buy their own approval ratings.

So they commission their own polling firm to produce numbers that "prove" beyond doubt that huge majorities of Americans are strongly behind the McCorpse ticket and, furthermore, they approve by huge margins the way TV news is mixing a little content into its editorializing.

Don't forget the video camera on Tuesday. A sawed off shotgun might be more useful considering the circumstances, but I'm told they're illegal. That's in sharp contrast to three counts of election theft, which are not only just fine and dandy with the law, but the victims don't dare complain and the beneficiaries get to live in palatial splendor for at least four years, then great perks and prizes for life. Which may be mercifully brief in at least one case.

Drudge is the most unreliable news source. Just because he is online and not doing real reporting he is able to make snark headlines and snobbish comments.

28. All I know is, I will believe Obama wins, only when it happens
I don't trust this election process. Bush was never elected President, ever. Will this one be fixed? Would be the hardest one for them to fix, Obama farther ahead in the polls, and more states would have to be handled. Do I think the Republicans won't do it anyway, you better believe it. If McCain is installed, you can bet your life it was stolen. Then it will be up to us all, to do something about it. Or will we just complain on blogs while the main stream media just declares Americas polling system just not getting it right and it was all a legitimate election, just like they did in 2004. Ohio 2004 was no accident.
