23. You know, I was going to answer this post with "Bastet, the Egptian cat god," but I like the idea
of a living deity, so Java it is. :loveya: I also have three fuzzy divine ones living in my own home, BTW.

Cernunnos, Pan, Zeus, Aphrodite, Allah, Jehovah, Lucifer......Why pick just one. That's the beauty of polytheism. We've got a God for everything!!! These money loving evil fucks and their golden cow don't count though. Love of money is the new Devil. Same as the old Devil.

18. which gods?
I posted something the other day about miracles being signs from 'God' that we use to justify our belief and therefore our commitment to defend to the death our religion. Some catholic writers that keep track of miracles admit that they occur in every religion. This phenomenon surely must be a unknown quantum effect that we just use for our own purposes. Yung also said that extraordinary coincidence can be assigned any use that we see fit.

The image of the elephant being felt of by the blind men is one I like to think of when I'm pondering 'God'. I learned the golden rule from my christian background. I learned respect for all life from my brush with hinduism in the 60's. I learned how to center myself on the great spirit within from an Apache indian during a skiing trip. I said a prayer to Ra the other day just as an experiment. (I also prayed an apology to 'God the father' in case that insulted him).

I did an experiment with prayer in the 70's where I prayed constantly as I worked and played. The results were startling. There is something going on. Even Einstein said that the advances in the future would be in the spiritual area. It does seem that science and religion are moving toward each other these days. If we could just get together on this 'God' thing, maybe we could stop killing each other over thinking that we are the 'chosen' ones! (that's a global 'we' by the way)

:hippie:

But as I hold as my religious credo, 'the more the merrier'.

However the delicious irony in the above pic is lost on those idiot christianists.
