If You Are Still Looking At New Polls You Are Needlessly Torturing Yourself. THEY MEAN NOTHING NOW!
The polls mean jack shit at this point. They've shown Obama up consistently for weeks now by a good margin and there will always be daily variations in polls. They don't mean jack shit.

But at this late in the game, NO tv ad, NO campaign rally, NO interview is going to have the power to flip the numbers on their head. The polls, though entertaining in many ways, are no longer relevant now that we're in the weekend prior to the election. But that doesn't mean whatsoever that this is over. The polls don't matter anymore, but turnout does. TURNOUT IS ALL THAT MATTERS RIGHT NOW.

Yes, that's it. Fuck looking at polls the next couple of days. They don't mean squat at this point. Obama has already done his job. He's run a masterful campaign that has contained little if any flaws, has rallied the masses, has been as strategic as any political campaign I've ever witnessed, and has put together a ground game the likes of which have never been seen. He's done his part. The polls only reflect how well he's done that job, and for weeks it's shown he's done it right. His part in all of this is over. 21 months of masterful work for him is now over. So it isn't the polls that matter any longer, which are a reflection of the job HE's done, since his job is essentially over. All that is left is for us to vote.

Know what should make you feel so good about that? Well, see, the hard part is done. Obama had one hell of a steep climb to prove himself to people and he's done that. Over 21 months he's done everything he could. He never failed us. Not once. He's been everything we could've asked for. He's deflected everything he could and surprised many with how flawless he's been. There was so much that could've gone wrong. None of it did. HE DID HIS PART. That's the first reason to feel really good. So much could've gone wrong. So much could've gone differently in his campaign. But it didn't. That was BY FAR the hardest part in all of this. He's done it. The 99.9% hardest part of all of this was successful. That should make you feel REALLY good.

The second reason to feel really good is because as of this moment, it isn't the polls that matter but the ground game. Guess what? WE'VE ALREADY BEGUN KICKING ASS WITH THE GROUND GAME! Millions have voted and our side has come out in droves! Those voters can't change their minds anymore. Their vote has been cast, and we have a HUGE lead on that alone already! No new news, polls, attacks or otherwise can change that. That should make you feel REALLY good, because we're starting off on Tuesday with a HUGE head start.

And the third reason to feel really good? Well, like I said; the only thing that matters right now is the ground game. That's it. GOTV. The only metric that matters any longer. Polls? Fuck polls. They've done their part and they're no longer relevant. Votes are now relevant. Who will get the most to the polls? Who has the best organized ground game? Who has the more motivated voters? Well, I think you know the answer to that. Obama has put together a more organized, thorough, and frankly staggering in size GOTV machine than politics has ever witnessed. He has the money to finance it, the motivation amongst the ranks to energize the masses, and the number of volunteers enough to make it all work. It will be a GOTV like no other. McCain? Yeah, not so much. A ton of his voters lack energy, motivation, are depressed and many already accepting that he will lose. His GOTV is disorganized and he even had to cut financing for it. The right wing gotv machine is working at half capacity and with some blown parts. It is laughable compared to Obamas.

So please, FUCK LOOKING AT THE POLLS. Remind yourself of these 3 points from now until Tuesday: 1. 99.9% of the hardest part of all of this is done. Obama has been masterful and been nearly flawless over 21 months. All the fears about what could happen during the campaign are done. He proved himself. He did everything we could've asked and more. There should be a HUGE sigh of relief all around for that. 2. Early voting has taken place in the millions, with us having a COMMANDING lead. We start off tuesday with a huge head start that makes the steep hill McCain has to already climb 10 times steeper. The only way he can overcome it is by having a superior ground game. 3. McCain doesn't come close to having a superior ground game. Ours blows his right out of the water. Our voters are motivated, his aren't. We have the finances, he doesn't. We have overwhelming numbers of boots on the ground, he doesn't.

Ease your minds the best you can. No matter how much the pundits make you worry, no matter what daily tracking polls come out, no matter what garbage you hear, we have EVERYTHING in place to win this thing. We have the better candidate, the better early voting numbers, and the better ground game. We'll be fine on Tuesday DU'ers, we'll be fine.

5. Where the hell do you get off
coming at us with all this rational, logical shit? I happen to have a 20-minute manic-depressive cycle that I have finally gotten synchronized with the 20-minute schedule on which new and conflicting polls are released, and you want me to throw all that emotional tinkering away just because you felt like putting up a post that makes sense? Jeez, where's your sense of proportion?

6. And if voters are still undecided, are they going to stand in line for hours?
Somehow, I don't think so.

9. Is there a Poll Readers Anonymous? I'll be looking at them Wednesday, ferchrissakes.
Actually, it WILL be interesting to check out the final percentages.

And then there's the race for 2012, and the early projections about Obama's opponent.

I KNOW, I KNOW. STOP IT. :banghead:

Back to football season for me.
