Nightmare Iraq report reduced to gibberish by MSNBC wire, nation shrugs, etc...
Help...?

Chlorine truck bombs sicken hundreds of Iraqis
Toxic gas reportedly kills 8, makes 350 Iraqis and 6 U.S. troops ill

MSNBC News Services
Updated: 1 hour, 20 minutes ago

FALLUJAH, Iraq - Two suicide bombings involving toxic chlorine gas made 350 Iraqis and six U.S. troops kill in Fallujah on Friday, the U.S. military said on Saturday, and another smaller bomb attack near Ramadi also released chlorine gas.

Ah...what? Chlorine bombs made 350 Iraqis and six US troops kill?

I get it, of course. This report popped at about 6am. Someone on the wire was typing too fast, and by the time I post this, that line above will have been fixed. Hard to keep up with the disasters these days, it seems. "Six troops and 350 Iraqis were killed in a suicide bombing that involved chlorine" will, maybe, be the line after they fix it.

The bombs in question were in dump trucks that had huge tanks of chlorine wired with explosives inside, and these nightmares were deliberately detonated in proximity to many humans. In a city. In a city. In a city.

Remember those quaint days back in 2003? Back when the war justifiers used to draw those obscene parallels between urban murder rates (Detroit vs. Baghdad was one I heard quite a bit) to trivialize what was, back then, a comparatively small massacre? You remember, back when guys like Rush used to deploy death-related statistics as a positive point of argument?

We don't hear that shit so much anymore. Funny, eh? I love old talking points. Revisiting them is a bit like cleaning out the cat box.

This abomination happened in Iraq, instead of America or Europe, on a no-attention news day, so it'll slide by...excepting the expected blather from the usual craven knotheads who'll try to transmogrify this into some "They had WMD!" a.m. radio pablum...

...and that noise will be the talking-point dreck we'll mock a year from now.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

3. Five years of bomb etiquette and they are bound to get real good at it.
If we stay there long enough maybe the WMD scenario will ultimately become true. Maybe this is what bushco is hoping for? Who the fuck knows. But rest at ease, the surge is working.:sarcasm:

5. If we stay there long enough Iraq will replace Palestine as the reason "they all hate us"
and want to commit acts of terrorism against American and westerners generally anywhere they can get at us in the world.
We are on the way to setting up 2 or 3 generations' worth of terrorist violence plotted just to get back at us for what we've done. It used to be the slow murder of the Palestinians that they hated us for and wanted to blow up our buildings over. We were deeply implicated in that crime, but this one--the murder of Iraq--we will own this one all by ourselves.

4. How much you want to bet it was American made chlorine?
Is there an American company that Brewer and stupidface installed in Iraq that is supplying them with chlorine?

7. Death by chlorine poisoning. That's one of the ways you *don't* want to go
Human cruelty and human imagination are a terrible combination. Watch this trend get worse.
