NBC News
Dozens of caskets unearthed by Hurricane Ike are still waiting to be buried in Orange, Texas' Hollywood Cemetery.
Orange's mayor says the town can't spend public funds for reburials in a private cemetery, and so far FEMA hasn't committed funds either.
The reburials have been complicated by the fact that the cemetery dates back to the late 1800s, and officials haven't been able to contact many of the families whose relatives' remains were unearthed by the storm surge.
In the meantime refrigerated trailers are being used to house the remains.
So far only seven of the 33 unearthed caskets have been reburied.
Only 15 of the caskets have been identified, which has also complicated the situation.
One of those belonged to famous blues singer and guitarist Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown.
Brown died in Texas shortly after evacuating his Louisiana home after Hurricane Katrina.
