Parrotheads rejoice! Jimmy Buffett backs Obama, will present free concert Sunday
Sen. Barack Obama already has Warren Buffett advising on financial matters. Now he's enrolled Jimmy Buffett presumably to help out with the party planning.

The "Margaritaville" singer is the latest music star to back the Obama campaign, announcing plans for a free get-out-the-vote concert in the battleground state of Florida.

Buffett will headline the Last Chance for Change rally at Tampa's Ford Amphitheatre on Sunday, two days before the election.

Fans can score two free tickets by visiting Obama information tables around Tampa Bay; additional info is available online at www.FL.BarackObama.com.

In recent weeks, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Jay-Z, the Dead and James Taylor have all given similar performances in key states.

3. Surprises me, I'm a fan of his music but I saw an interview a few
years ago that led me to believe he was politically RW. Glad I was wrong.

A blatant chamber of commerce plug.

Ya'll get on down to the big easy and have a cheeseburger in paradise at Margaritaville on Decatur Street. They some good eats.

I like mine with lettuce and tomato.

7. Buffett was a wild and crazy kid
when he was a student at Auburn. All he wanted to do was play his guitar, get drunk, and screw. He flunked out his freshman year with a 0.32 GPA because he rarely made it to class. He did a concert at Auburn in the 70s and told a few stories about his year there.

8. We've seen Jimmy many times in NOLA
over the past 20 years and he never fails to put alot of energy into his performances; positive energy. Nothing beats Boats or Ballads on a lazy sunday morning.
