...he's actually a convincing humorist. Politically, he's a mess.

8. Yup, that was my thought too
no way in hell would the "Palin in 2012" have made it on without his approval.

26. same here. could he be more wooden, more phony sounding.
that rictus of a 'smile?'

am I watching a different clip, or what?

the only time I've ever seen him look convincing was in this clip, in which he plays a creepy stalker. he was very comfortable 'in his own skin' there. not really acting, as he does in his role as politician. he's a natural as a creep:

13. Way for McCain to close the deal - not
There's nothing like showing a nation how presidential you are than by playing a buffoon on national television.

24. She might have most of their possessions in her name but he Owns her.
Most of the time she looks like she wants to be a zillion miles away from the political theater and she's caught in it, like a deer in the headlights.

17. Tina Fey was funny, but McCain and his wife were terrible.
Cindy just HAD to get on that show. She's been seething since Sarah took over the role of First Cheerleader.

22. NO, it wasn't.

Just because something is funny to you doesn't make it funny. It merely means you're tuned in to that kind of "humor," such that it is.

25. and,conversely, just because something isn't funny to you, doesn't mean its not funny
Funny is subjective, not objective. But you knew that.

27. the skit was funny. McCain is the biggest phony since the last time
you say any republican saying anything

he's clearly a terrible actor...can't even play himself

here's where he's comfortable, convincing

20. This was the most relaxed I've seen him
in a very long time. He has in the past shown himself to have a sense of humor. But he has been so busy being a jackass. To me he actually seemed like a weight had been lifted off of his shoulders. Of course he knows he is losing, but he knows it is almost over, and I bet he's glad about that! It's a relief for me too! I look forward to hearing about his retirement!

21. McCain's appearance on SNL made me think he knows its over for him
especially the piece on the "fake news" where one his options was to go "grandpa" or something like that...where he said "Obama's got his whole life ahead of him"..."this is my turn"...that made me wince...
