I have a bag of buttons that I mostly distribute but not much else. What memorabilia will you treasure from this election? If you are planning to buy some Obama stuff, what will you buy?

I have two teenage daughters who have been collecting Obama memorabilia for months. His picture is everywhere in our house- we even have two refrigerator magnets with his face.

My yard sign, my Obama '08 sign, my North Carolina Obama lapel pin, my Obama button, and the DNCC pass that got me into the stadium for the Denver Convention speech. Hoping to pick up some more stuff in D.C. in January.

The hats are sold out!

18. You can order one from the site. I got it from the original artist who was selling them
on the street mall in Denver. I crumbled up the box son bringing it back in my luggage. :-(

15. My granfather had an old Coolidge sign
It still hangs in our family cabin but it is made of tin. I wonder how long the modern signs will hold out?

19. I've got a couple that I'll always treasure
Edited on Sun Nov-02-08 01:42 AM by Lakerstan
My wife and I had the opportunity to get up front at one of his rallies here in Las Vegas a couple weeks ago (after getting in line at 8am for a 3pm event). I had known that he signs his books, so my wife and I each brought one. I had a hardcover first edition "The Audacity of Hope" and my wife had a nice hardcover of "Dreams from my Father".

After the rally was over, he walked around the front of the stage, and we both got to shake his hand. He looked my wife straight in the eye and said, "Make sure you give that to him (his assistant, Reggie Love) and I'll sign it for you".

He was so generous with that one statement, that he actually made my wife cry.

Obama did what he said, and actually signed both our books. We've got some nice pictures of the event, and a couple of "Change" and "Obama/Biden" signs that we'll keep, but his personal touch, touched us both, and that will be my fondest memory.

21. I voted absentee with a paper ballot. Before I took it in I scanned it.
Gonna laminate that sucker and put it on my wall.

Plus stuff I got at the Convention like the "Ask Me How Many Houses I Own" button. Oh, yeah, and the Obama/Biden sign I got at the rally.

I have a box of stuff that I take out from time to time and sort through and let the memories roll over me. This stuff is going to go in there. Gonna take that box to the frickin' nursing home with me and when I'm ancient I'm STILL gonna be pulling these out and shedding a tear of pride.

happily,
Bright

23. Only my paper from the day Obama got the nomination.
I'm going to give it to my son on Christmas because I know he was too busy to save it and would like it.
