Last night, I went to a costume party...
in Houston. I dressed up as Sarah Palin (too late to post pics here on the DU thread, but I did win for best female costume. Sadly, I looked a lot like her.)

I was nervous because I had no idea what the political climate was. In fact, I was prepared to identify myself as Tina Fey, if necessary.

So, every single person there made a point of telling me how they were voting. They sought me out, just to tell me to my (Palin's) face, that there was no way they were voting for McCain/Palin on Tuesday. I didn't matter their age or their issue. In fact, it seemed to me that Palin was the reason for their decision. No one mentioned McCain.

It was really weird, because people seemed happy to tell "Palin" their choice and then when they found out that I wasn't voting for M/P either, they were thrilled.

It was the best Halloween party evah! :)

2. I got my hair cut yesterday...
because it looked too much like Sarah Palin's style if I wore it up at that length ;)

4. That's funny.
My mom was telling me how great my hair looks in that style, but I can never wear it like that again. I look too much like Palin.

9. Count me and my sister iin on that too!
Pisses me off too, I love to wear my hair like that while cleaning house or running around. Just to get it out of my face. Can't bring myself to do it anymore, so I wear it in a ponytail. Sis too.

5. A work colleague told me I reminded him of Sarah Palin
Edited on Sun Nov-02-08 11:01 AM by neebob
in profile, when I turned back to my computer while wearing reading glasses ... and I'm 6'1", with much lighter and thicker hair that I wear down all the time. I look nothing like Sarah Palin. It's a sickness! Or a form of that thing where people see faces in toast and stuff.

3. I ran into "Sarah Palin" crossing the street on Halloween.
Except for being a tiny bit heavier, this woman's representation was as good as Tina Fey's. I'll have to ask my friend who knew her to ask about her experience.

7. I went to a costume party last night, we had a Sarah Pallin show up also
She was nervous walking into the building, saying I'm Tina Fey! The nervousness didn't last long, She seemed to have a great time all evening. I went as Vote Girl and asked her to sign her choice of candidate on my costume. She voted for Obama! I gave her an Obama poster which she proceeded to carry and wave about all night. It was very amusing, people taking lots of pictures of her, and she posing with that Obama poster and winking. She really looked like Pallin, even down to the Crimson red heels.
It was a great night.
Congrats on the Prize!

11. My wife went as Sarah Palin and I was Joe the 6 pack/plumber
and we had much of the same experience as you. If there were any McLame supporters, they kept it to themselves.

13. I'll be a bit contrarian
Sarah Palin is actually fairly physically attractive; she was a beauty pageant contestant, after all. It's just that the face and body come with that hideous brain, repulsive personality and odious political philosophy.

Wear your hair the way you want, ladies. All things considered, I find Helen Thomas far more attractive than Sarah Palin.

Sounds like you had a lot of fun at the party OP! Just curious - what age group was the shindig?
