A State-By-State Look at Election Day
NYT/AP: A State-By-State Look at Election Day
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published: November 2, 2008

A state-by-state review of the race for the White House as well as key congressional and gubernatorial campaigns. The state's number of electoral votes is in parentheses.

------

ALABAMA (9) -- McCain territory. Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions safe. Each party struggling to hold an open House seat.

ALASKA (3) -- Running mate Sarah Palin's state safe for McCain. Convicted GOP Sen. Ted Stevens and Republican Rep. Don Young in deep trouble.

ARIZONA (10) -- McCain's home state should be safe but isn't quite. Democrats on track to pick up one House seat.

ARKANSAS (6) -- McCain's for sure. Democratic Sen. Mark Pryor safe for re-election.

CALIFORNIA (55) -- Obama gets the biggest prize, 55 electoral votes of 270 needed. Close race to replace retiring Republican in the House....

many of which have appeared on the Greatest Page, is considered the most asinine in DU's history. Could you expand on that thought, maybe in a manner a bit more civil and polite? Or were you joking?

...why the press is trying to shove the "Pennsylvania is going to flip for mcsame" mantra down everyone's throats, when right now it is 52 to 43 Obama. Texas is 52 to 41 Mc-Palin and considered untouchable by the Dems. It may be the 10 percent error thing but still I can recognize bullshit when I hear it.

I did enjoy this little article I found, about how the McCain campaign is virtually out of resources for their vital ground, or "get out the vote" efforts. This is the machinery that essentially delivered Bush's surprise win in 04. The McCain GOTV headquarters in the swing states are often virtually empty, while the Obama offices are hotbeds of frenzy well into the night; reportedly putting even the impressive Bush 04 efforts to shame.

Keep your eyes on the state polls. Statistically speaking there's virtually no chance of an Obama loss. The numbers have been remarkably steady and consistent, with really no sign of the 'closing' the McCain camp, and whore media keeps claiming.
