4. Krispy Kreme donuts, starbucks coffee and Ben and Jerrys all offer
a free merchandise if you show your I voted sticker.

Sounds pretty fating but free, I'll do it but we don't have any Ben and Jerrys around here.

6. I voted early and by absentee...
and I didn't get a "sticker" of any kind.

How do I get my free coffee? (Never mind, there isn't a Starbucks within 50 miles of where I live).

8. If you have some sort of receipt
like I do from my mail in ballot..but Ben and Jerry's doesn't require that..they just say "tell them you voted"

10. I have the other mailed material, but no receipt.
I know, I should have sent it in registered mail... but I'm a putz.

Anyway, voting in CA so while I expect it to arrive and be counted, I'm not worried.

14. please do not support Starbucks
laid off my husband in August. He was a good solid employee that loved the brand and bled Starbucks green, for nearly 20 years. 20 YEARS. in the worst job market in my memory. He keeps sending out resumes but no one NO one is hiring.

To add insult to injury - Starbucks is no using unbenefited contract work to do his job - here is the ad. Yes, we checked, it is for Starbucks, and it is my husbands job.

http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ofc/886753421.html

This may be a small thing to all of you, but what if this was your husband, your son, your wife......

Starbucks cut my husbands job after nearly 20 years to go to low paid contract non-benefited labor.

I could go on and on about how he worked over 50-60 hours a week sacrificing family for career during the boom years, because he thought, in the end, Starbucks would always be there for us.

We were so wrong.

And on a personal note, I have posted many many times in the past years in SBUX defense on this board, on Huff Post and many others. How silly of me to believe the "we treat our employees like family" BS.

Please just support your local coffee house.
