What's this "the polls are tightening" shit?
It creeps me out. I've heard/read it 3 times already today and I'm barely paying attention. Are they setting the stage for the theft of another election? It reminds me of the stories floating around on election night 2004 justifying the shift of votes from Kerry at the polls.

Is this the set-up? I put NOTHING by these criminals.

10. THE RACE IS NOT WON YET - GO OUT AND SUPPORT OBAMA

THIS IS NO NORMAL ELECTION - THE 1st BLACK PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. Every vote will count.

now do something:

Go to your local HQ
Make calls
Talk to swing voters
Share your energy
Get them to vote Obama!

3. Just doing what they do best, trying to suppress voter turnout. I wouldn't worry about it.

7. Nah, just the media huffing and puffing. Relax.
The media always wants a "horse race," so you'll be hearing this crap until Tuesday. TV news especially HATES what they refer to as a "coronation," two examples being Reagan in 1984 and Eisenhower in 1956. It's boring to report, boring for the viewers, and the ratings drop, so they flog this "tightening" story line as hard as possible.

Of course, they didn't have to flog anything in the last 2 elections, since those were nail-biters.

The latest polls I saw tonight had Obama up by 12 points in some cases. I don't put anything by these criminals either, but I think we're looking at the "L" word. And I don't mean "liberal."

9. Have they done this "polls are tightening" in any other race
in recent history? I thought journalists were supposed to report the TRUTH not conjecture? If the polls REALLY are tightening then I expect to SEE them tightening myself. The corporate media seems to have become little more than a propaganda arm of the RNC just like FOX always was since its inception. I guess MSNBC and CNN believe that it's more profitable to go the FOX route instead of....um.....reporting the truth.

14. I'm trying real hard not to look at polls
because mostly I think they're a cartload of horseshit

but I guess sometimes it's like trying not to look at a train wreck, you know?

anyway, my opinion is that the media are a bunch of psychotic assholes who ENJOY manipulating the public's emotions

really...they love it...

I swear they must hold betting contests in the newsroom on who can get someone to cry first...like when they cover a horrible accident and some assclown is out there asking an eyewitness, "And so how did you feel when you saw the victim's head get chopped off and land in your lap?"

Those assholes are probably all in the back rooms laughing hysterically at us because we're so easily led around by the nose...

18. Reeks of Karl Rove, doesn't it?
I think they are gearing up to steal it again because
they know there is no way they can win it honestly.

I refuse to believe that SO many of my fellow citizens are THAT fucking ignorant.
I think Rove knows that, and thus this creeping "tightening" meme.

20. You don't want to listen to MSRNC right now with brokaw and gregory and chuck todd then.
gregory said that the undecided will probably break for mccain, 2 to 1. :argh:

21. 1-day polls
1-day polls on a weekend
1-day polls on a weekend with a holiday

are all progressively more volatile. Remember, Zogby had McCain rocketing up to a 1-point lead on Friday, then down by 10 on Saturday, a ridiculous 11-point spread.

The campaigns have actually been diverging this past week, Obama's upward, McCain's downward. Obama's got the lead and the momentum right now, and it's the mo' that matters.

The excitement over possibly real but marginal movements is just TeeVee High Drama. The fact is, it sucks to be John McCain right now and they know it.
