"Socialism" is as American as apple pie...
Edited on Sun Nov-02-08 07:49 PM by Postman
I lived a "socialist" existence for 5 years of my life.

It's called the US military.

Everything was provided to us.

Our jobs, our training, our clothes, our food, our pay, our transportation, our retirement etc., etc...

4. I absolutely positively DO NOT want everything provided FOR ME.
Not military style anyway. I want my own choices. I just want a fair shake at keeping the fruits of my own labors. I want to pool my money with my fellow citizens so we all have clean water, safe food and products, decent schools, accessible medical care, affordable housing, clean air etc. A very loose safety net so to speak.

I do not want to be told what to wear, how to work, when to eat, when to sleep, and what shots I'm going to get. I don't think most of America does either.
