Would anyone be less nervous if we were 8 points behind right now instead of 8 points ahead?

I am not the superstitious type so I don't believe we can jinx ourselves by discussing this.

The work has been done. Its time to start thinking about a new and better America soon. We just all need to get out and vote tomorrow. Even the number of undecided voters are going down to the point that their votes can no longer sway this election. Everyone is going to want to be part of history tomorrow. And the majority want to be on the right side of history.

Richie Daley and Barack Obama would not be encouraging over a million people to come to downtown Chicago tomorrow to celebrate a loss ... or even a close election. I think we all know that.

Landslide.

2. I admit--I'd be a lot more nervous if we were that many points down.
But I'm so goddamn nervous about turnout. I just don't want a repeat of 2004. I know AA voters are blowing up the polling places there's so many of them, but I just want this to go right. I guess it's PTSD from '04--I spent that night crying myself to sleep and skipping classes the next day because I just could not bring myself to go.

3. I was just about to post something similar. Thanks.
If the situation were reversed, and the repuke was up 6-8 points and expected to win 300-400 Electoral Votes, we would feel like shit. The work has been and is being done.

I have had three knocks on my NC door from Obama's campaign. 2 for me, one for a previous tenant. They(we) are leaving no door unknocked getting out the vote.

4. I have some residual nervousness.
Having studied for the test, however, I am pretty confident we will pass. I just don't know if we will get a C+ or an A. Sixty Democratic senators would make it an A.

6. Yes, actually.
I get more nervous the closer to 50/50 the odds look, and I'm a natural pessimist.

If Obama were 8% down, I'd assume that he was certain to lose; I'd be depressed but not nervous as such.

Since he appears to still be ahead in the polls, there's a chance he'll win (although I'm still betting on McCain), and therefore I'm nervous.
