Yep, that's a McCain voter.
This is a woman who is unemployed, with severe health problems, pays $730/ month for one of the few state health plans that's covers people like her and still says:

Smith, on the other hand, said her situation shows that coverage is available. People just have to look long enough and hard enough to find it.

"I think if you're determined to find something to get covered, I think it's out there," she said. "It's not going to fall in your lap."

Smith is leaning toward John McCain. She isn't eager to see a government-run health plan. She envisions long waits and limited choices of doctors.

Most importantly, she's worried she'll lose the security it took her a year and a half to find.

"I'm very nervous about that," she said. "I would hate for them to come and replace the health coverage I have."

1. $730 a month for health care coverage??
Damn, it must be nice to have $730 bucks a month to pay for coverage -- silly me, I couldn't afford that kind of monthly hit. :(

I wonder what she'd think under a plan that truly would help her.

7. Her attitude is amazing.
She thinks that if people don't have insurance it's because they're not trying hard enough, it's a moral failing on their part. How long does she think she can last paying $730/month while unemployed? The rest of her life?

8. These people are incredibly stupid and brainwashed. If she doesn't want a fair shake with regard
to health care costs, fine, but there are plenty of people who do and who need help! Selfish self-serving idiot!

And if she would bother to read about Obama's plan, she would know that she can keep her existing health insurance plan and he would help her get her premium reduced.

Instead she would rather listen to those who could not care less if she has to overpaid for health insurance. :argh: :banghead:

11. I always wonder about people like this,
people who are so clearly misinformed and without having applied critical thinking skills, would someone sitting down with them unpatronizingly (which would be hard for me, I'll admit, someone more talented in that department would have to get that job), and just simply going over the situation calmly and thoroughly make a difference, if it was someone she trusts and respects? Or are they just too far gone? She does say she's leaning, which to me means she could still be reached.
