Owner of Rifle Company Forced to Resign After Supporting Obama

Dan Cooper, Montana gunsmith and founder of Cooper Firearms, was forced to resign after he chose to support Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama. Gun owners threatened to boycott the company's products after Cooper voiced his support.

Cooper had voted for Republicans for most of his life but felt that the current Republican party no longer represented him, saying that "the Republican Party has moved so far right in recent years.", and felt the Democrat's message was more powerful.
