I love seeing Republicans so miserable.
So I asked a man I work with who is from New Jersey if he was going to be able to vote and he said "no, it wouldn't do any good anyway."

"Oh, you mean because its a blue state?" I asked. "Yeah, and I wouldn't have voted for McCain anyway- I mean I was going to until he picked his running mate, but she's so, uh..."

He stopped as if he were afraid of offending me... "Because she's so stupid, and you're afraid he'll keel over next week and we'll be stuck with her?" I asked. He nodded.

5. Another person started telling me how Daley cheated in Chicago
in 1960 to help JFK win and its a proven fact. I just looked at him and said, that doesn't hold a candle to what the OTHER SIDE has done in the last 8 years. He just shut up after that. They still think that in the whole economy of things, Republicans aren't really so bad.

8. Daley DID cheat.
That doesn't mean it's the Republicans' turn to cheat!

9. It was 48 years ago.
And it doesn't justify any other cheating, a year later, or half a century later, by anyone.

12. Daley cheated in Chicago because the Rethugs did downstate.
Tit for tat, basically.

23. Two things about the 1960 race...
Despite having heard Republicans grouse about this FOR MY ENTIRE LIFETIME (and I'm over 40):

1) even if Illinois flipped due to whatever Daley did (not a sure thing, and don't forget similar Republican tactics where they controlled things downstate), Kennedy still would have had the electoral vtes to win. So either way, Kennedy wins.

2) Don't bitch and moan to me about Daley and 1960, then turn around and tell me to "Get over it" about 2000 and 2004.

13. I hope it is a blowout on all levels....
And it sends the whining republican roaches scurrying underneath their rocks. So a real "mandate" will be so over-whelming, that as soon as one of the parasitic republicans stands up and starts screeching about meaningless crap, they are promptly told to sit down and shut the fuck up.

2. If they weren't such scum wads
I'd feel bad about it. But considering the damage inflicted over the last eight years by the Republicans on our country and the world, I think it's about time to share the pain. And watching other people not only get by but prosper under Democratic leadership will have them chewing their livers out.

6. I love the smell of republi-CONS self-immolating in the morning.
It's their turn to cry and to wander in the wilderness. Hopefully for a LONG time. 'Cause it's going to take quite awhile to clean up after them. When they return, hopefully, they'll be a shade of their former selves, a permanent minority party. Ironic for all the closet racists in there. They'll finally get a taste of what minority status is like.

21. Actually I don't think they'll ever get a real taste of the way they've treated minorities
Even if they become a minority.

And even though it would teach them some sort of deserved bitter and painful lesson because they've done everything in their power to dis-empower minorities and have shown no heart or kindness towards people's suffering from the direct result of their actions, they will benefit from a Democratic Administration.

And maybe that's as it should be. But I do hope the law catches up to them, and that the law wins.

14. Prayer For McCain Campaign
I just received this email from a republican friend, what a sick bunch of ass holes.

> Please pass this prayer on right now on behalf of John McCain. Please start
> prayer chains immediately for the election. This election can be turned
> around for the glory of God if we will stop worrying and get on our knees !!!
> How many people can you pass this on to ??? Let us pray.
>
> Father, in the name of Jesus, we come to You right now asking for a miracle in
> this election. Lord, we lift up to You right now Senator John McCain and
> Governor Sarah Palin. Lord, we ask that You would just wrap Your arms around
> them and their families at this critical time. Father, we ask for miracle
> upon miracle in this election. We know that only You can turn the tide of evil
> in this election. Father, as we await the final days of the election, we ask
> in complete faith that You would allow the truth to be known across this land.
> Lord, we ask for forgiveness for putting You last...Father, please heal our
> land and homes, allow us to have another chance to love You the way you should
> be loved. Lord, we ask specifically for John and Sarah's health, wisdom,
> words, actions and their campaign staff. Lord, we lift them all up to You
> now. Father, we also specifically ask for the voters in many states who are
> battleground states. Lord, please convict the hearts of voters in Florida,
> Pennsylvania, Indiana, Ohio, Missouri, North Dakota, Virginia, Nevada and
> Colorado.
> Father we beg for every electoral vote. Lord, we lift all of our needs up to
> You now. In the name of Jesus we claim victory in Your name. Lord, we pray
> for Your will to be done in a mighty way...we know that this election can and
> will glorify You! Father, place the man you would have to lead our country in
> a Christian way on November 4. We love You, Lord. We await Your holy
> miracles...
>
> In Jesus' Name we pray, Amen
>
> Send this on to as many people as you can think of.....let it reach every
> corner of America. Get on your knees for this election....Pray for God to
> send a REVIVAL across this land. Christians, its time we get on our
> knees....talk to people, speak up....we've been silent too long.

22. "Forgive us, Lord, for this, our dreadful toadying..."
It's wonderfully convenient that no matter how this works out, loons like this can fit the end results into their fantasy world. Either God will have answered their prayers (fat chance!), or God will be "punishing" the country for not having been as Christian as it should have been.

That their God would have decided that Obama is a blessing for all of us will, of course, never cross their batshit crazy little minds.

19. Not Quite The 72-Hour Effort They Were Expecting...
While the cables have attempted to portray this as a close race, many of us who have done canvassing and phone banking have seen the BIG difference in the enthusiasm level. I had more problems with Obama supporters trying to sell ME on my candidate (not a bad problems), while many of the repugnicans I encountered appeared to be voting for Gramps like they were forced to. Gramps was never a popular choice...even with Palin, his support was a mile wide and an inch thick.

I'll find it interesting to see if the GOOP does get out its vote or if, as I suspect, many who see the polls will figure that it's a lost cause and will stay home.
