AFA recruiting troops for the War on the War on Christmas.....
The American Family Association wants you to be a foot soldier to fight against the War on Christmas

Your new Christmas button:
“It’s OK to say Merry Christmas”

Help preserve our tradition of saying “Merry Christmas” by sponsoring Project Merry Christmas in your church.

It's hard to believe that there are companies and individuals who want to ban "Merry Christmas" and replace it with "Holiday Greetings" because, they say, they don't want to offend anyone.

Christians can take a stand and proclaim to our communities that Christmas is not just a winter holiday focused on materialism, but a "holy day" when we celebrate the birth of our Savior. We can do it in a gentle and effective way by wearing the “It’s OK to say Merry Christmas” button.

You can help preserve our tradition of greeting others with a “Merry Christmas” by taking a vital leadership role in AFA’s "Project Merry Christmas."

Here's how. AFA is making available an attractive button and Glossy Sticker that carry on our tradition of saying “It's OK to say Merry Christmas."

Purchase enough buttons for each member of your church and enough Glossy Stickers for each family to have one to go on their automobile. Urge your fellow members to wear their buttons and display the Glossy Stickers during the entire Christmas season.

If you are unable to sponsor your church yourself, ask your Sunday School class to make it a class project. You can even order buttons and Glossy Stickers to share with co-workers, children in Christian schools, customers, etc.

Some might think simply wearing a button or displaying a Glossy Sticker is a small thing, but God can use small things to make a big point, and to create opportunities to share the Good News. And what a great time to do that at Christmas!

AFA is asking individuals like you in thousands of communities across the nation to head up this project in their local churches. Your willingness to underwrite the cost for your church and enthusiastically promote this project is the key to making an impact in your area.

1. Then I would think that it is ONLY appropriate to say "Merry Christmas"
on the "holy" Christmas Day, and not in the retail stores for two months before the holiday. Moreover, stores should be asked if, when the loons at the AFA demand clerks say "Merry Christmas" to ALL customers, if that also means sales items are only for those celebrating Christmas.

This campaign is just another moneymaking scheme by the crazies at the American Freak Association. . .

4. I usually say "Feliz Natal" (Merry Christmas) the week before Christmas.
Before that, it's "Boas Festas" (Good Holidays). After that, it's "Feliz Ano Novo" (Happy New Year). (Cultural diversity note: we don't have different words for "Merry" and "Happy.")

You have NO idea how ridiculous those "War on Christmas" loons make the USA look out here in Foreignland. The last eight years turned the Americans into the butt of a LOT of jokes -- something virtually unheard of before.

3. WTF - not JUST a winter holiday focused on materialism?
Can you believe the utter cluelessness of these brain dead pieces a shit?

Ya mean it actually IS a winter holiday focused on materialism but it's something else too?I don't know how we can have a WOC anymore. All the stores where the clerks either did or did not say Merry Christmas are filing for Chapter 11 and may not even be open by Xmas day.

5. My ex has the most beautiful smile in the world....
I have seen grown people brought to tears by that smile, and the words "Merry Christmas" coming out of it, blue eyes making it count.

Fuck these people and their hypocritical buttons.

Bah, Humbug.

6. Oy! They can say "Merry Christmas" all they want
to their churchy friends. When you're in private business expect them to say "Happy Holidays" to not offend Jewish people who may be buying presents to celebrate their OWN holiday, or atheists who don't want any invocation of religious connotation when they might just be shopping for socks and underwear.

9. Would you like a paper or plastic bag, thats about the way it ends up sounding after
2 months of being forced to say it. Btw, what tradition are they talking about? I'm 52 and remember clerks only saying Merry xmas after thanks giving, at one time that started in december, it wasn't until the last 30 years of the shopping spree with credit cards that they started this crap. Btw, xmas is going to be pretty much dollar store crap around here, bills are kicking ass this year.

10. And yet,
if Christmas wasn't focused on materialism, nobody would celebrate it.
