Rumor I heard Sunday Night: Obama may be planning victory tours
Edited on Tue Nov-04-08 12:34 AM by The Straight Story
I was working security at a local downtown hotel (Columbus, Ohio) And the guys who set up the sound equipment were staying there. Was out having a smoke and got to chatting with them and ask them what they were gonna do after the election and they said they might still be traveling as they heard someone talking about victory/thank you tours (and the one guy got to meet Obama at one of the last stops and Obama gave him his secret service flag pin as a gift - he said they were supposed to be non-partisan but he was voting Obama).

I also met 5 french Canadians who were here promoting Obama and wanted to be here when history is made. They can't vote of course but they wanted to do their part to get him in office.

11. I mean limit travel
and avoid all public unchecked appearances. I think they will need super ramped up security if he is fortunate enough to win if the creeps don't steal it again.

3. I really hope he doesn't do this
I hope he gets his cabinet together and starts figuring out how to clean this mess up...and not be criticized for spending more money and using more gas.

Our "thank you" should come on January 20, 2009.

No other thanks should be needed.

5. It would not surprise me if he did.

he did this in 2004 when he won the Senate seat. He set dates that he came back to the areas where he campaigned and had small rallies where he spoke to the people and thanked them for their help in getting elected. We really enjoyed having him come back and as long as he now kept his rallies small, nothing over 100,000, then it should be okay. ;)

No honestly this just sounds like what he might do, and if he did he would be getting feedback from the people the whole time as he worked on his cabinet and such. Barack has a way of letting you, he people, be a part of his victory just as he did with his campaign. That is how he keeps his supporters after the race.

7. I think that would be awesome. Imagine a 50 state victory tour
To thank all the traditional blue states for their loyalty.

And to thank the Red states that turned to blue for seeing the light.

And even to thank the Democratic voters in red states for all their efforts.

Wouldn't take but a few weeks and it would be an incredible glimpse and appetizer into what will be the greatest era in the history of America.

9. No way!
Do you realize how many wingnuts would be scribbling their visions of martyrdon in their mom's basements'?

12. That would be stupendous. Just hope the poor guy doesn't burn himself out
before January. I love his ambition and desire to do all these things, though.

My hat's off to him.

Us un-real Americans don't get much campaign love in the last month.

Not all of us are red.
