In a rural RED Texas county...I cast my vote for the FIRST African American President in an African
American Methodist Church.
For some reason, I found that very profound.

On a side note...our county (like most) has had record early voting turnouts. For the first time ever, I had to wait in line.
In the first hour of voting, the election judge says that they have already been through 2 sheets and I was near the bottom of the 3rd.

All I can say is fucking wow!

1. People get a sense of affirmation voting for Obama that they don't get voting for others...

2. Well to be honest (and it is hardly shocking to most here)
He wasn't my first choice so MY personal experience wasn't really an affirmation.

The situation is what I found very profound.

I just hope that Obama delivers on his promise. I'd like to think that I was wrong all those months that I cast votes for different candidates during this process, lol.

4. I also live in rural NE Texas
and voted for Barak Obama. I think Tx will be pink or lavender by the end of the voting process. I sure wish it were blue, but there are too many people who support folks like delay, perry, Cronin, hutchison, etc. (no caps on their names).

Where is Molly Ivins and Ann Richards when we desperately need them. (RIP) At least we still have outspoken Hightower.

Hi to you 'Horse with no name'! :yourock:
