Obama urges Minnesota to vote for Al Franken
Edited on Tue Nov-04-08 09:41 AM by Eric J in MN
If you know any big Obama supporters in Minnesota who are on the fence about Al Franken, then please email or phone them with this:

SAINT PAUL <11/03/08> - In a unexpected appearance on WCCO Radio’s Don Shelby Show, Senator Barack Obama today made another pitch for DFL U.S. Senate candidate Al Franken, urging Minnesotans to send him a partner for change.

Senator Obama told listeners :

“I will say that your candidate in Minnesota, Al Franken, is going to be an important part of a coalition that brings about change. He’s really, I think, in this to fight for working families. I’m looking forward to seeing him serve in the Senate.

“And if people are looking for fundamental change over the next eight years, then I think an Obama-Biden ticket, Al Franken in the Senate, is going to be the best answer for working families all across the state.”

1. Since a Tom Allen win here in Maine is a long shot, I really want
this seat for Franken. If we only get to ditch one between Collins and Coleman, it's a no-brainer that Coleman needs to go. I'll be watching the results closely and sending all positive thoughts Al's way.

2. I love Al Franken! The man is both smart and funny and he writes great books.
The idea of having him in the Senate as opposed to Norm Coleman is just a dream come true. Please, please, Minnesota, I am begging you to elect Al Franken.

And extra points for making Bill O'Reilly go stark raving bonkers on air when it's announced.

3. If Al Franken wins, it will be great to hear Bill O'Reilly talk about it.
If Al Franken loses, not so much.
