A little morality play about race in America
Brown v Board of Education was a unanimous decision handed down by the Warren court in 1954. It held that "separate but equal" was inherently unequal. This decision paved the way for all the civil rights legislation that has followed. It was, truly, a landmark decision.

A friend of mine is a bit older than me. She was born in Kansas and had, as a childhood friend, a girl whose Dad was part of the team that argued that case. My friend and that girl lost touch over the years, but reconnected maybe ten years or so ago.

In the intervening decades, that young girl's Dad passed away of natural causes. But ill wishes and outright death threats did not stop.

She still gets the occasional one today.

I was so sad when I heard this. I should be outraged ..... or surprised ...... but all I can muster is "sad".

I have an "I voted" sticker on my shirt. And I'm really proud of this one.
