A line of happy Democrats in Silverlake
I live in the Silverlake district of Los Angeles, and we're all very liberal here. I got to the polling station at 7AM, right before it opened and the line was already a block long. Most people on line wore blue and everyone was happy and smiling, which is a very different vibe than we had 4 years ago.

It felt like the mood at a championship game when your team is way ahead and there's only a few seconds left. People were wanting to break out and celebrate but they were trying to contain themselves until it was official.

I get the feeling Silverlake is going to be a very happy place tonight.

1. Kick for Silverlake
The mood is mixed here in Burbank but I think even the elderly Republican stalwarts are frightened about having Palin so close to the button.

Grudging acceptance.
