This sort of bothers me about my vote. Maybe it's nothing but,

when I voted, I filled out a form with my name, address, etc. Then the election judge wrote a number on a line on the form. Then they printed out a ballot and checked to make sure my ballot had the same number as she wrote on the form. So, my ballot is identifiable as being mine, as matching my information form.

This wouldn't bother me too much. I'm used to voting in Iowa caucuses by show of hands, so the secret ballot thing isn't much of a much. I'm not ashamed of my vote (at all!!). But when I first checked in, something came up on their computer with my old address. Then there were a few seconds of concern when it didn't match my driver's license. Then something else showed up on the screen with the right address and they let me vote with no further question.

But knowing they can identify my ballot makes me nervous. Don't know what to do about it. I've already voted. But might sometime ask the County Clerk about why they do this.

1. My nephew went out to vote but they told him that his address didn't match

his license. I guess he never changed his license with his new address so he lied to them and said he was living at both addresses. I don't think they believed him but they chickened out and let him vote. He said he was looking all serious and angry at them (he's black), I think that's why they didn't give him too much trouble.:)

3. Good for him! And bad for them -- they are NOT supposed to be turning

people away because of discrepancies in addresses. The I.D. is supposed to be just that -- identifying the person. It doesn't matter if the address is up-to-date.

5. I'm not so sure abou that. If addresses didn't matter I could vote in every county within reach.

In CA, your address absolutely does matter unless you're a homeless person and then you can list an intersection or overpass as your place of residence, at least in Orange Co.

2. There is a number by my name in

the polling book and a matching number on my ballot. If there is a recount of any sort, it would verify that there was a voter for that ballot. I have no problem with it.
