I hope this is going on nationwide. In New Orleans the first 20 people (all A-A) exit polled told
the pollster that they voted for John McCain, one guy pointed at the pollsters pad saying right there, "Black Democrat, McCain," laughing.

I hope this is a coordinated effort.

1. I'm not sure it's so funny..

They'll use any opportunity they have to steal the election.

3. You think they are going to claim McCain got 80 or 90 % of the black vote?

Yeah, I'm sure they would try to make that claim if this were a nationwide effort at fucking with the exit polling.

:sarcasm:

5. They had the Jews in Florida voting for Buchanan..

..when Gore lost. It's not so far fetched, though probably unlikely.

Just saying.

9. No I wasn't there, but it was pretty obvious to both my friends that were there and the pollster

that they were trying to make WWL's exit polling numbers a bunch of jibberish. Most exit polling does not allow for the person taking the information to discard responses no matter how they feel about the accuracy of the response.

14. Ok, cool. I get it now. Having lived in New Orleans most of my life
(up until 1994), and being horrified at what DIDN'T happen with Katrina (i.e., help WAS NOT on the way), I couldn't imagine all of those voters going to McCain.

WWL-I remember it well. Nash Roberts, Sally-Ann Roberts, Angela Hill, Eric Paulsen, just off the top of my head. Gonna go check out their web site. It was really good during the last round of hurricanes.

Anyhoo, I digress. I really would love for Louisiana to turn blue tonight due to the folks in Louisiana saying a big "fuck you!" to the Repukes. I live in Georgia now, hoping the same thing happens here. Maybe I'm delusional, but won't know until later. :hi:

Thanks for that report.

I think he just liked to lie.

12. Most of the time you lie to them to manipulate the information going to your opponent's campaign
Edited on Tue Nov-04-08 12:29 PM by RGBolen
during the day to try to get them to sent their get out the vote resources to the wrong places and hope to suppress their vote.

This seemed to just be some people having some fun with the pollster.

I don't think it's funny or wise.

Otherwise we're told the polls are unreliable.

But yeah-- I don't think this sort of thing is very wise and I hope it's *not* a coordinated effort.

However, this is New Orleans we're talking about. I'll cut them a bunch of slack, 'cause it's just a little bit of ironic, subtle payback for what the Bush administration didn't do to help before, during, and after Katrina. That guy's way of saying "Fuck you, John McCain!" It's funny because it's such a simple, non-Machiavellian, non-Rove-dirty-tricks thing. Kudos to the guy who had said that.

I kinda wish I had that photo now of Bush goofing around with McCain at McCain's birthday party while Katrina happened. I hope people never, ever forget what happened there.Anyone still have access to that photo, please?

Again, thanks for the story, RGBolen.

Edited to add the article with pic I was referring to, titled Flashback: As Katrina hit, McCain celebrated 69th birthday with Bush.»

15. That's hilarious! LOL
:hi:

(The pollsters already have declared that exit polls don't work in the United States, so I'm sure 20 people in NOLA "lying" to a pollster will not be responsible for a stolen election.)

Do you not realize this kind of "amusing" campaign will just hand the GOP ammunition for a contested election.

laughable excuse for a contested election. Oh, silly me. That's right, we're still talking about the desperate, hand wringing GOP and their being accustomed to getting what they want for the last eight years.

For the love of all that is holy people, this is a voter in NEW ORLEANS who said this. Have the ones who are being critical of us joking about this forgotten so quickly???? Cut the OP and the voter some slack. We don't even know what/if anything happened to the voter if he lived in New Orleans prior to Katrina, what or who he may have lost- home, family, job, EVERYTHING? Who knows? I don't, but all I'm going to do is applaud him for what he said.

Okay, getting off my high horse and rant now-hopefully. Whew.
