my favorite little-heard obama statement

my favorite little-heard obama statement is when he talks about how the "old trickle-down economics" is not working. that is a direct reference to reagan's trickle-down economic theory where those at the top get it all, and those below the top get whatever is left. i think a more appropriate name would be "trickle-on" or "piss on you" theory. within 6 months of reagan ceremoniously and recklessly opening our country to unregulated international trade, i had to tell my wife that she could no longer be a stay-at-home mom - that she had to go back to work so that we could save enough money to buy a home. the world had come to our region in california and was buying up all of the property. we never made it, the prices rose so much faster than we were able to save. speculators made a mint, though, while we continued to suffer.

so, obama saying this means two things to me - one, he knows and two, he pays attention.
