A Reminder: All these long voting lines are caused by LOCAL officials. Do something about it.

Begin Rant:

Did you have to stand in line to cast your vote? It is people in your own community that cause the long voting lines and if they piss you off you can do something about it. This is not like AT&T or the FBI doing you dirty and you being helpless in the face of a giant, these are local officials in your state that are causing the problem. You can call their offices every damned day, you can go to their offices every damned day if you like. You can call radio stations and local TV stations too. You can write letters to the newspapers and you can get your neighbors just as riled up as you are. There is no excuse for this - the Republicans may be in charge today and be able to suppress voting that way but goddam it, they will be out tomorrow and this is one of the very first things that needs to be fixed in our country. Fortunately it will be one of the easiest things to fix - toss out the asswipes who caused voting lines, toss a few of them in jail if it can be proven they did it on purpose too and see if that doesn't shake things up a bit.
