Voter hit by car in VA this morning. |
|
I voted in Caroline Co (Dawn)this morning. There was by far the biggest line anybody had ever seen there. Small rural, mostly black district. Sadly a man was hit by a car when the line temporarily grew right up to a busy intersection. He apparently got himself out of the road, but was taken away in an ambulance a while later. I hope he gets to vote. A volunteer shifted the line around to get it further away from the road. There was a cop doing traffic control, so its bewildering that the line was allowed to go along the road at all in the first place. I guess its just never gotten that long before and they didn't have a plan in place for it.
Other than that there was definitely a positive buoyant vibe in the air in spite of the drizzle. The line moved fast but still took 45 minutes. In 04 I voted at about the same time of day and only waited about 5 minutes, in a slower moving line too.

I've ever seen. It is at a school and the line went up and down halls and still even extended out the front door and into the parking lot.
It was GREAT!
