Nancy Pfotenhuser is on now saying Republicans are turning out in record numbers. I believe that as much as I believe Keith Olberman going to come in my room and have hot passionate sex with me.

1. We won't know who's getting the turnout until the polls close.

I remember everyone talking about a large turnout helping Kerry. Unfortunately, it was mixed with a ton of Bush support, essentially leaving the race where it was pre-election day, Bush with a slight edge.

No matter what country I've lived in, spokespeople for all parties express confidence on election day, at least until the resutls come in. Personally I think CNN should have replaced their normal programming with fluffy animals or porn or cartoons or something to pass the time until the polls close, discussion of politics on election day while the polls are open is essentially a waste of airtime.

8. Hmmm, I'm precinct 9, heavily Dem. Precinct 12

next to us is heavily repug gauging by all the mcstupid signs I see. Both precincts vote in the same building. This morning, precinct 12, no waiting, 5 machines. Precinct 9, lined up outside the door, 6 machines. I know at least 4 diehard repugs that aren't voting. 3 out of town on business, 1 hunting. I know they didn't vote absentee and we don't have early voting.
