They are expecting ONE MILLION PEOPLE at Obama's victory speech tonight
70,000 are expected to be inside, and an additional 1 million are expected to be outside.

Think about that for just a moment, people.

This is a phenomenon unlike anything I have ever seen. I really believe that this is not the beginning of the end of the GOP, but the end. Not the middle of the end, not even the end of the end. The GOP is over. They have the religious fundamentalists left, and that's it.

Obama is going to make history not only as the first African American president, but as the greatest president America has ever had - Which is appropriate considering that he will follow the worst president America has ever had.

I do believe it took someone like George W. Bush to truly wake America up. A miserable failure in every possible metric imaginable, he showed everybody just what will happen when you adopt conservative policies. He destroyed every business he ever ran and he almost destroyed America. Obama is exactly what the country needs. They are going to try to steal it, but they will fail this time. The numbers are just too overwhelming this time.

Remember this day. It will mark the beginning of a new era in American politics. Just look at the economy. Look at the stock market. Reaganism is dead.

2. Yep. They're done. Stick the fork in them now.
I predict there will be no GOP at the next prez election in 2012. The nuts will splinter off from the conservatives - they are two distinct groups as of this election. It's over.

Ain't it grand?

It's about time the repukes and Rush learned the truth. Raygun is DEAD, Raygun is DEAD.
His policies may live on but we are the process of doing something about them.

And also, Milton Friedman is DEAD, Milton Friedman is DEAD.......

And also too, the Free Market is DEAD. The Free Market is DEAD.....

7. Millennials/Generation Y
I was born in 1982 so I fall under the Generation Y group. It's funny that you made this post cause I was just telling my husband last night that as the baby boomers are slowly replaced by the millenials that the republicans will dissapear for good. The party will fade away to no more. The future generation just has completely different ideals than the conservatives. Like night and day. This movement that has started with Obama is just the beginning. Mark my words.

8. My employer is based out of Chicago. They sent out an email yesterday
telling everyone that was in the Chicago office that they had permission to leave early and suggested that 4 pm might be a good time to split downtown if they wanted to make it home before the morning.

They are expecting huge crowds all over the city all night long!

10. Totally agree! I've long maintained that the indescribable ineptitude of Bush and the extreme
excesses of his malfeasance paved the way for Obama - to the extent that people are so fed up,
many of them are able to look past their prejudices and see his outstanding abilities and character
without seeing the color of his skin.

Who knew that the horror of the Bush years would, in a way, pave the road for someone as outstanding
and honest as Barack Obama!

GOBAMAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!

11. I was hearing stories awhile ago about the 1 million expected.
Gonna be one helluva party up in Chi-town!

The gop never learned to castoff the rwing fundies. Their party's obsession with the snake-lickers won them elections for awhile. But it also drove many away. That never quite sunk in to the powers that be in the gop.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/the-last-lap-obama-and-mccain-traverse-us-in-final-dash-for-votes-989627.html

At least one million people are expected to converge on Grant Park in downtown Chicago tonight, hoping to witness Mr Obama taking the stage in the day's dwindling hours to declare victory and to celebrate becoming the first African American to capture the land's highest office.

hour on the city streets. I know people that have already gone to stand in line.
